NAMM 2021 - Zoom release G6 multi-effects pedal

Zoom has made a huge announcement at the Believe in Music NAMM 2021 virtual show revealing their new flagship guitar multi-effects unit, named the G6. Zoom hail the new G6 unit being as the distillation of 30 years of engineering know-how all in one pedal and in a class of its own!

The new G6 boasts a colour touchscreen for parameter adjustments, navigation, effects pedal chain order with all the familiar phone/tablet swipe gestures. The G6 features six footswitches, four rotary encoders and heavy-duty rocker pedal for all your volume and wah expressions. All housed inside a stealthy carbon fibre housing, this thing is more than ready for the road and all it can throw at it.

The Zoom G6 promises jaw-dropping effects combined with powerful amp modelling that has players from all genres covered, from tasteful blues to blistering thrash the G6 has you more than covered whatever the sound you need. With every amp and effects pedal you can think of included, the G6 even has a convolution engine and comes with 70 miked up cabinet impulses responses ready for you to experiment with. If that’s not your style you can store and use up to 100 of your own.

The G6 also comes included with 68 pre-set drum parts ranging from a wide variety of styles and time signatures, perfect for jamming solo or cabaret performances with the use of the built-in looper. The looper section can accommodate a massive 256 audio loops, and when paired with a suitable SD card, the G6 can loop performances up to 2 hours long.

The G6 features an aux-in for playing along to external sources, stereo output jacks and USB port enabling it to be used as a 2-in/2-out audio interface. All for the great price of £500, the G6 is certainly going to be an interesting contender among the amp modelling world.
