Focusrite ISA 428 MkII

The ISA 428 MkII incorporates four of Focusrite’s renowned mic pres in a compact, simple and easy to use 2U housing, presenting four mic preamps, instrument inputs and line ins at your fingertips for your next session. The original Focusrite mic pre was designed to suit the microphones at that time, today’s 428 model makes one small but curial change, the additional input impedances to the classic ISA 110 setting allow you to match any microphone of your choice, old or new. Plus giving you access to a wide range of sounds, from the character and warm of a vintage mic to the clear transparency of modern design microphones.

Inputs and Gain

On the ISA 428 MkII, each mic pre has the option of mic, line or the front-panel instrument input, with variable input impedance to ensure that you’re getting the very best performance from the source. Up to 60dB of gain is available on the four-position rotatory and gain range switches, with a further +20dB of continuously variable trim. Resulting in a huge 80dB of gain still being available should it be required.

LED Panels and Rear Panel

The high-pass filter on the ISA 428 MkII features variable cut-off frequency between 16Hz and 420kHz. While an array of 6-segment LED meters to show peak signal level for the four mic pres, in addition to the four direct inputs to the optional A-D card. Lastly, rear-panel insert points allow the use of inline processors such as compression.
