Behringer Eurolive D Series Active PA Speakers

As a result of Behringer's Class-D amplifier technology and internal switch mode power supplies, the EuroliveE D Series loudspeakers provide a much better power to weight ratio than competing active speakers. So you get all the power without the back breaking weight. Furthermore the sound quality of these lightweight loudspeakers exceeds that of Behringer's extremely popular Eurolive B212A and B215A systems.

The integrated sound processor provides total system control, along with dependable protection of the LF and HF transducers, thanks to the built in active high pass filter, which virtually eliminate distortion even at extreme operating levels. The speakers can also be used as floor monitors as one side is tapered to allow for this.

There are 4 versions available -

200-Watt B208D with 8" Woofer
200-Watt B210D with a 10" Woofer
550-Watt B212D with a 12" Woofer
550-Watt B215D with a 15" Woofer

All four models feature an Ultra-Low Noise (ULN) Mic/Line input with LEVEL control and a dedicated 2-band EQ (bass/treble) for easy control.

Handy compact speaker - can be used directly with a dynamic microphone for very simple standalone PA. Also has angled back so can be used for foldback. Knobs for controls at back are a bit vulnerable, and front grill scratches easily - worth getting some case or transporting in box if you can. Fairly good sound for the money. Frequency response above 1kHz is pretty flat, but there is a bit of peak at 700Hz, and a very pronounced bass peak (+10dB) at 120Hz, after that bass falls off to be -5dB at 80Hz. The 120Hz bass peak gives a rather boomy sound on music ( if one is being picky). For best results you would need to eq out the bass peak and add a separate sub woofer.

Very easy to use and good value. Bought for use as portable PC system, can plug in mic directly (though sligthtly noisy at highest gain). Sound quality is pretty good for PA, though not really up to hi-fi standards. Goes quite loud - ample for speech in small halls, and music and moderate levels (not disco)

Got these for their versatility in place of studio monitors. Using them on a mobile youth bus for PA, DJing and music production. Just the job.
