Two Notes Torpedo Reload Attenuator
Purest Tube Amp Attenuator – Definitive Re-Amping System
Guitarists, you never have to sacrifice your hard-earned dream tone again. With the Torpedo Reload, you can hit the sweet spots in your amp and attenuate your volume all whilst preserving all the dynamics, character, and personality in your playing and from your amp. Huge guitar tones that keep your sound engineer and neighbours happy.
The Reload is the ideal combination of the devices you must have in a modern studio for the recording of electric guitars and basses: a power attenuator, a multi-impedance load box, a DI and re-amping box, it does it all, and does it perfectly too.
Attenuators are usually known for the negative impact they have on your tone in cases of heavy attenuation. On the contrary, the Reactive-Active technology presents your amplifier with a consistent speaker’s impedance no matter what level of attenuation you’re at, and thus preserves the specific character of your amplifier.
With a choice of 4, 8, or 16 Ohms, your amplifier (up to 150W RMS) will actually see real speaker impedance, and your tone will remain constant throughout the continuous attenuation curve.
The ultimate continuous attenuator and re-amping system for your studio
The Torpedo Reload reactive-active load box has been designed for recording studios demanding the very best. It is the ultimate tool for recording and re-amping guitars, offering producers and engineers unparalleled transparency. Torpedo Reload is the amp connoisseurs secret weapon to play any amp within their collection, at any volume.
Faithful tone all the way, with continuous attenuation
Capable of working with the vast majority of amps (tube and solid-state), the embedded RE-ACT™ reactive-active load box lets you use your amp at its sweet spots at precisely the volume you need. With continuous amp level attenuation from full volume to complete silence, it accurately preserves the amplifier's dynamics, personality and character all the way through the attenuation sweep.
RE-ACT™ Load Box - Keep Your Amp Tone Intact
When the output of your amp increases, your speaker reaction changes because of nuances within speaker impedance. The Two Notes Reactive-Active Technology (RE-ACT™) gives your amplifier a consistent speaker impedance that makes the amp behave as if it was plugged into a real speaker or cabinet, at any attenuation setting.
Contour Knob - Huge Guitar Tones at Low Volume
Playing loud comes with the sensation of a bold, powerful tone that feels like you are standing in front of a wall of sound. The Contour control mimics the reactive sensation of your amp when using Reload’s attenuator. The Contour control allows huge guitar tones from the amp, at sensible volume levels.
High fidelity across the re-amping chain
HI-Z Guitar Input
A successful re-amping session starts with a pristine, highly dynamic, and most importantly, a completely uncompressed, unaffected, instrument-level DI track. The Torpedo Reload boasts a totally transparent input to record pure, detailed and faithful DI tracks, making your re-amped tones sound exactly as if your guitar is plugged straight into the amp.
MATCH™ Technology - Input gain levelling made easy
Input gain consistency is essential for successful re-amping - especially as these sessions can be several days, weeks or even months apart. The Two notes MATCH™ technology allows you to precisely monitor and fine-tune Guitar DI impedance levels, at the input stage, for a consistent gain structure. Plug the guitar in, play as you turn the Replay knob until the MATCH™ LED flashes green and you are ready to go.
Ready for the road - Amp-top box or 19" 2U rack-mounted
Torpedo Reload can be used as an Amp-top box. With a hardwearing Aluminium front panel and rock-solid construction, the Torpedo Reload is built to endure touring life as well as being studio stable. Screw-in the removable Rack Ears (sold separately) to install it in any 19" rack for maximum protection and convenience.
Designed for safety - Hand built and tested at Two Notes HQ
Every Reload is thoroughly tested before shipping to ensure it is fully compliant with our high and demanding specifications. Should the Reload "see" something not right, or too much signal (it can happen to the best of us), the built-in thermal sensor detects the issue and temporarily restricts use, ensuring complete safety for your rig.
The perfect way to complete your silent re-amping
Feed your Torpedo Reload dry amp track into the acclaimed Torpedo Wall of Sound DAW plug-in. Torpedo Reload includes 16 guitar and 8 bass Virtual Cabinets captured with DynIR.
What is DynIR?
Impulse Response (IR) is a digital representation of a guitar cab miked up in a room. A huge number of perfectly aligned studio-grade IR files would be needed to replicate Two notes’ DynIR Virtual Cabinet.
With DynIR, you can find your tone in seconds effortlessly, leaving you to focus on playing and recording. Simply move the mic around the cabinet, in real-time, and hear the changes.
