This active nearfield monitor looks good, sounds good and even feel goods. To maintain good low-frequency efficiency, the acoustic principle is bass reflex with a rear-facing port. The cabinet construction is solid MDF 17mm thick which is Black veneered for an appealing finish. The magnetically shielded drivers were selected for quality, not price.

The volume controls are rear panel mounted together with the On/Off switch and mains input socket. An LED below the bass driver indicates when power is on. Each speaker is totally self-contained. The overall sound is superb, partly due to the quality of the drivers are partly to the matching of the amps to the speakers and cabinet.

Studiospares Monitor Pads Keep the sound coming from the speakers, not the surface they are standing on. Everything that can vibrate will colour the sound and that includes the surface that the monitors are mounted on.
