    The locking mechanism consists of two die-cast circular discs, a and b, each with complimentary "hill and dale" surfaces. Pressing the locking handle brings both discs together and they remain firmly locked at the same angle.

     

    Other locking systems seem crude and cumbersome. This product only uses locking nuts which cannot shake loose and get lost.
