Sontronics STC-2 Black large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone
The Sontronics STC-2 formed part of their initial line-up back in 2005 and has remained a firm favourite with musicians, producers and studio everywhere since. The STC-2 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a gold-sputtered 1-inch capsule and a fixed cardioid pattern. The STC-2 is ideally suited for recording vocals, acoustic instruments and more.
The Sontronics STC-2 features an evenly balanced frequency response and delivers a defined low end with an incredibly detailed, open top-end resulting in an accurately captured subject. The STC-2 also features a characteristic smooth roll-off in the high frequencies ensuring an extremely natural presence. The use of the STC-2 will give you digital-friendly results that will perfectly sit in a mix, without causing any dithering or other anomalies that you might find in other mics in the same price range. Overall, the STC-2 is an incredibly versatile and reliable microphone that will serve you well.
The STC-2 boasts a low-cut filter switch and an attenuation or pad switch (-10dB cut) to give it plenty of flexibility and to aid its suitability for recording a wide range of sources in a variety of room sizes. These controls, coupled with the hand-seated capsule and the carefully crafted electronics will help you get the very best from every recording, making this microphone a truly flexible all-round tool for your studio.
The STC-2 comes complete with its spider-style shock mount, which helps to isolate the sensitive microphone from any transient noise travelling through the mic stand and like all Sontronics microphones, the STC-2 comes included with a free lifetime warranty.
