Sontronics ARIA cardioid valve/tube condenser microphone

Back in 2014 Sontronics founder & designer Trevor Coley designed and developed the Sontronics ARIA valve/tube cardioid condenser microphone. The ARIA was specifically designed for achieving the best results for vocal recordings and since its release, it has found itself becoming a modern classic thanks to its beautifully smooth and balanced tone.

The award-winning Sontronics ARIA will enable you to achieve stunning, beautiful results on every recording application, thanks to its silky-smooth characteristics, accurate response and Sontronics trademark high-frequency roll-off. Following the development of the Sontronics MERCURY variable-pattern valve microphone, the ARIA has now been able to be refined and improved even further to take its quality to the next level. The ARIA uses only premium-quality, branded components in its UK-made circuits. This has led to considerable improvements to the ARIA’s signal-to-noise ratio and reduces its self-noise to incredibly low levels for a tube microphone. This means the ARIA delivers new levels of precision and clarity that will enhance the results of your recordings to a professional level.

Housed inside the chromed grille is a large, 1.07-inch, edge-terminated capsule that captures all the detail and subtleties of any voice, whether it's sung or spoken. While the hand-selected European 12AX7/ECC83 tube lends a character that you'd expect to find in a classic vintage valve mic. For the ultimate level of control, the accompanying SPS-2 power supply unit boasts pad (0, -10dB) and filter (linear, 75Hz) switches, as well as a tube-ready, LED, letting you know when the ARIA is warmed up and at its best to record. Inside the unit is a pro-quality, medical-grade electricity filter to ensure that the power supply is pure and interference-free.

The result of all this is a go-to microphone that will enable you to achieve professional-quality recordings on a wide range of applications that include vocals, piano, percussion, acoustic guitar, cello and other instruments as well as voiceovers and broadcasts. The ARIA microphone comes supplied with its own velvet-lined wooden box, which comes in an aluminium flight case together with its elastic spider-style shock mount, a ring mount and the SPS-2 power supply, connecting cable and power lead. And like all Sontronics microphones, the ARIA is protected by a free lifetime warranty.
