Two Notes Torpedo Captor - 8 Ohm

Premium, Reactive Load Box

As a guitarist, you're always craving that perfect tone, constantly tweaking and adjusting to find it. It can be frustrating when you’ve spent hours dialling in your tone, and then it changes when you play in a different space.

Guitar amp attenuators can help you control your volume while getting the best tone possible.

Compact and straightforward, the Torpedo Captor is used in thousands of studios worldwide and is an indispensable tool for stages of all sizes. Designed to be placed between your amp head and speaker cabinet, it acts as a power attenuator and cabinet simulator, packed in a DI sized enclosure.

Ease of use at the touch of a button

The Torpedo Captor allows you to capture a rich sound for direct recording without having to mike your speaker. Used without a speaker, you can use your amp head in silent mode without any risk. If you wish to keep using a cabinet, the Torpedo Captor features a direct speaker THRU or ATT output which sends either the full volume of the amp to the cabinet or a fixed -20dB attenuation.

It also offers a balanced XLR active DI output with selectable guitar or bass simulation taken from the Le Preamp series of preamps, as well as a balanced line output with adjustable output level and polarity switch.

It has an admissible power of 100 Watts RMS and is available in 3 models of 4, 8, and 16 Ohms to match any amp. Featuring a complete set of connections as well as the Two notes Wall Of Sound plug-in software, which gives you 16 virtual cabinets to choose from.

Get the best out of your instrument/sound wherever you are

The Torpedo Captor is perfect for unleashing your favourite tube amp in a variety of modern applications and venues. Whether you’re in the studio, at home or playing live, the Captor has you covered, no matter your gear.

Save space, weight, and volume on stage

The Torpedo Captor is portable, versatile and can go directly into the PA. Carrying heavy gear and cabinets into venues is no longer required.

Play at the sweet spots

Push your tube amp to the sweet spots and control the volume with the -20dB attenuator. Get pushed cleans, driving crunch or liquid high gains without flattening the front row or disturbing your neighbours and family.

Record at the sweet spots

The reactive load box in the Torpedo Captor accurately emulates the response, dynamics and feel of your rig. Going direct, recording your favourite tube amp, and recording silently has never been easier.

Combine your Torpedo Captor with a Torpedo C.A.B. M+

The Torpedo Captor can be combined with the Torpedo C.A.B. M+ for the perfect ‘silent stage’ evolution. The allows you to push your tube amp to the sweet spots and enjoy your favourite DynIRs without using a laptop.

If you’re just using the Torpedo Captor, use the built-in analogue cab sim x 2. This is individually voiced for guitar and bass.

What is DynIR?

The Captor and Captor X feature DynIR technology, but what is it? In short, Impulse Response (IR) is a digital representation of a guitar cab miked up in a room. A huge number of perfectly aligned studio-grade IR files would be needed to replicate Two notes’ DynIR Virtual Cabinet.

With DynIR, you can find your tone in seconds effortlessly, leaving you to focus on playing and recording. Simply move the mic around the cabinet, in real-time, and hear the changes.

Rock your tube amp on stage and get the best direct-to-desk tone for your pedalboard/amp modeller, mixing guitar and bass DIs in the studio.
