Black Friday falls on the last Friday of November every year due to it being the day after the US national holiday of Thanksgiving. This year Black Friday will be on Friday 24th November 2023.

What is Black Friday?
The concept of Black Friday originally began in America in the 1950s but has only started to create an impact in Europe within the last decade. Often regarded as the unofficial start to the Christmas shopping season, Black Friday is a day when the biggest retailers make every effort to bring their customers discounts, offers and deals just before Christmas.
The term ‘Black Friday’ refers to the name Philadelphia police gave to the day after Thanksgiving to describe the chaos that erupted when suburban tourists came into the city to start their Christmas shopping which would cause widespread traffic disruption. Today, the term is famous worldwide to mark the day eager shoppers can get the best money-saving deals in time for Christmas.
