Availability: Discontinued
- Audio-Technica AT4033A Condenser Mic, with a cardioid pattern preferred for 90 percent of all studio work.
- Offers low-noise, symmetrical, transformerless circuitry that results in exceptional transient response and clean output signals.
- The response is unusually between 20Hz and 20kHz.
- The capsule utilises vapour deposits of pure gold onto a specially contoured large diaphragm, which is then aged through a five-step process to ensure absolute long-term stability.
- The capsule is the more recently developed fixed chargeback plate permanently polarised variety.
- The design is more tolerant to moisture which can cause low-frequency rumbles on older high-voltage polarisation designs.

NOTE: The unit is no longer supplied with the shockmount as shown in the image
The AT4033 has a cardioid pattern which is preferred for 90% of all studio work. The response is unusually between 20Hz and 20kHz. The capsule utilises vapour deposits of pure gold onto a specially contoured large diaphragm, which is then aged through a five-step process to ensure absolute long-term stability. The capsule is the more recently developed fixed chargeback plate permanently polarised variety.
The design is more tolerant to moisture which can cause low-frequency rumbles on older high-voltage polarisation designs. This is a useful consideration when used for vocal recordings where water vapour from the breath can create condensation on the capsule. Sonic integrity is maintained by the inclusion of a transformerless output stage.
The 4033 includes a switchable 10dB attenuator and is able to handle SPLs as high as 147dB. Another switch provides bass roll-off below 80Hz to minimise unwanted noises.
An optional foam windshield, the Audio Technica AT8137 is available for use with this mic.
