The mixer installed seamlessly on my laptop. However, the first time I tried to use it the noise levels seemed extremely high - any gain at all or level from the mixer seemed to result in a weak but noisy signal, almost immediately becoming distorted. I played around for ages thinking I'd have to send it back. Finally however, I decided to try a different DAW - and it then worked PERFECTLY. No noise that I could hear, just a clean strong uncoloured signal. It appears that for some reason the first DAW used Microsoft Sound Mapper to route audio to/from the mixer, but the second used WDM Kernel Streaming (which also offers far better latency) and worked brilliantly. Therefore, if you have any issues at at all with noise (as I have seen on some other reviews) in my opinion it is more than likely down to drivers. Use the right ones and this thing is brilliant - for the price it is unbelievable what you get.
