The new SPLITMix4 is a fully passive hybrid mixer that offers a wide variety of configurations. You can mix 4 stereo input channels down to 1 stereo output, split a stereo input signal to distribute 4 stereo output channels, or combine the configurations for a wide range of applications. You can even configure the SPLITMix4 as 4 stereo input channels thru 4 independent level attenuators to 4 stereo output channels. Independent stereo level controls are provided on each channel. All 1/4-inch connections are stereo TRS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) and all channel connections have intelligent switching to allow for a wide variety of configurations. The fully passive design of the SPLITMix4 has no active circuitry to add noise or distortion, and virtually any signal level can be handled. The level attenuators cover a wide range and offer over 90dB of attenuation and channel isolation. The SPLITMix4 is designed primarily as a line level device with medium input and output impedances.

I bought this so I could run all of my audio gear into my KRK 2.1 system at once, this includes a TV, MOTU 8Pre and my SRM-Tech Turntable via a Cambridge audio pre-amp. I have found the product to be very clear sounding, and words excellently as an attenuator as well as a mixer. Bear in mind, this unit will not boost any signals, so if you are looking for a product that will increase gain this is not the product for you. I have yet to explore the "split" element of the device but I am sure it would work admirably for most applications. In summary, this device is perfect for mixing signals with a good hot signal together into a single output. The only downside is that you are limited to jack cables only.

This is a really clever product and seems well built. Unfortunately, Studiospares blurb fails to mention the 12dB (typical) insertion loss, which is actually quite a significant factor... if you can live with that, it's a great little product and very good value for money. But it would really help to know about it in advance.
