I was fed up with the background noise from the soundcard that came with my older tower PC. I'd already bought one of these for my newer tower PC so I knew it was good. What I didn't ralise is that this baby lets you connect a record player direct onto the unit and so, when I get round to it, I can convert my vinyl collection to mp3 files! All you have to do to get this unit working is plug it ito the USB port. THe sound is excellent.

I purchased the unit to transfer some treasured vinyl LPs to CD for a friend. I COULD have done it using the eq on the mixer, but even though the end result sounded acceptable, I would have known it wasn't "right". (How sad is that!!) I rated it four, rather than five stars because I would have preferred to see it built in a real aluminium box, not the plastic one that it is, but that doesn't seem to detract from the functionality.
