At the heart of the RAT Radio system is the DMX Transmitter, which connects to the lighting desk and can be linked with an unlimited number of other devices - DMX-enabled lights, sockets, bridge receivers and so on.
The transmitter has two modes: local and DMX control. Local mode is ideal for use on location, or out of doors, where no lighting desk is available. All DMX channels are controlled as one, according to the brightness knob on the transmitter. In this mode, using the built in battery enables the transmitter to be totally cordless.
DMX Control mode requires a DMX input signal, which is then broadcast in its entirety. All RAT Radio DMX receivers will then be controlled according to their set address.
For large systems, additional transmitters can be deployed to increase the range of radio coverage.
