Magazine Reviews
SOS, Mar 2005 "Rode have managed to produce a very sweet-sounding and highly specified multi-pattern microphone at a very affordable UK price. Definitely one to try if you need multiple patterns, but also worth it just as a cardioid vocal mic." http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar05/articles/rodent2a.htm Vocie Council, February 2012 "If you are looking for your first studio microphone then the NT2-A Studio Solution Pack offers excellent value for money. It provides great sound quality and enough flexibility to cope with most recording situations." http://voicecouncil.com/review-the-rode-nt2-a-mic-set/

The mic itself is very good - as with other mics at this price range it doesn't have that extra special something you get from a good Neumann for example, but for £200 it's excellent - put it in front of just about anything and it's fine, and handles high SPLs well too. My grumble would be with the package currently being sold - the shock mount and pop shield are OK if that's what you want (although the dual thread socket is too deep: you still need a thread adapter for a 3/8" stand) but it would be good to also have an ordinary stand mount as well - I often find shock mounts too bulky and take the centre of gravity too far away from the stand. The box and foam are no good for regular use so be prepared to invest in a proper case if you need to protect it.

I use this for recording pretty much everything. It performs well with acoustic guitar, vocals, drums, strings, bass. Can't fault this mic, great price, extremely versatile, strongly recommend!
