Alesis MicLink Wireless

The Alesis MicLink Wireless is one of those products that might make you wonder why you've never seen anything like it before. Essentially, this package will convert just about any handheld dynamic microphone into a wireless system. Yes, you too can be free from the 'shackles' of a microphone cable, to move around, strut, throw shapes, meet your audience, and all the other things vocalists like to do

There are, of course, complete wireless mic systems already available. If you already own a microphone, you may feel a bit peeved at the prospect of buying another microphone, when the one you already own is great. This is where the new Alesis wireless system comes into its own.

The MicLink kit comprises two key components. Firstly, there is a small, transmitter unit. This device has an XLR plug at one end, so that it easily slots into the bottom of most regular dynamic mics. This is rechargeable via an inbuilt lithium ion battery, which provides a battery life of over 6 hours.

The receiver unit is also a very compact design. This features a single antenna, with a volume control and a jack output. The system operates within a 2.4GHz spectrum, with 14 channels available, providing a range of 60ft. This is powered via three, standard AAA batteries. Pairing a the transmitter with the received is done simply by pressing a single button on the front of the receiver unit. One press, and the transmitter and receiver communicate with each other.

If there is a particular, corded microphone that you already love to use live, the Alesis MicLink Wireless is a perfect solution. It can also provide a great way of getting rid of cables across the stage for other mics, too. A very useful product, at an amazing low price
