Shure SM58 Vocal Microphone, The Industry Standard Microphone

The Shure SM58 vocal microphone has been an industry standard for vocal microphones, many regard it to be the perfect live and studio microphone. With a design that makes the SM58 almost indestructible, it is impressive that it also has an amazingly natural sound.

Music venues love the SM58 microphone for the great sound quality and fantastic price, but musicians love them even more. This is because the SM58 has a unidirectional polar response pattern that is most sensitive to sounds directly in front of the capsule and rejects most sounds to the side and rear. This isolation makes the SM58 less prone to feedback and unwanted background noise, perfect for delivering clear vocal performances.

This microphone comes with several accessories and we sell the Shure SM58 Grille for anybody that needs a spare SM58 Grille.

Magazine Reviews - Shure SM58 "The Shure SM58 is one of the most recognisable microphones in the world, and for good reason. It is the main stay of many a hire companies microphone hire stock, including mine." Instrumania - Shure SM58 Microphone Review "Whether it’s studio application or live performances, you need a reliable and clear microphone, and this is it. It won’t break the bank, or anything else given its lightweight, slender design. Every vocalist should own one..."

Decent live sound microphone. There are alternatives, but this is the original.

Versatile mike - signal slightly lower than expected but clear as a bell and great for stage and home studio - though sensitive to 'popping'- you need a guard for recording.

Maybe would have liked a switch on the body, but otherwise this is the ideal Mic for on the go use, packing and unpacking. Quality "get what you pay for" tech. Plus you get a Mic clip thrown in!

We had problems with the mike we were using for our comedy gigs and resorted to this favourite which came up trumps. Clean sound, easy to use. A reliable old stager.

The mic was a birthday present for my son who's vocalist in a band. He used the mic at their headlining gig last week and the sound was fantastic. He's extremely happy with it & will hopefully get many years of use from it. Thankyou.

We have 5 Shure SM58's in regular use by up to 40 musicians each week, plus extra gigs across the year. Used weekly by a charity to raise money for sick & underprivaledged.

If, like me, you dither over the SM58 and one of the cheaper copies, just spend the extra. They sound great, and you'll still be using yours in 30 years.

I use these mics on stage because of their well known quality. They have great sound to them. A little expensive but you pay for the name.
