Rode have been making great studio microphones for some time, made in Australia and delivering true pro quality to home and project studios. The Videomic did the same thing for the camera microphone market, that same clear sound in a more directional, compact microphone.

The integrated Rycote Lyre shock mount isolates your microphone from bumps and vibrations that could otherwise interfere with your sound.

Magazine Reviews
Fstoppers, February 2014 "Videomic GO is best suited to use with subjects between one and three feet away, directly in front of the mic. It does an excellent job cutting out ancillary noise and echo in these circumstances. However, any farther away than three feet and the GO’s quality drops, eventually becoming as unusable as the on-camera audio from a DSLR." https://fstoppers.com/gear/fstoppers-reviews-rode-videomic-go-line-power-microphone-8204 Froknowphoto, February 2014 "In a world where most people stick with the on board audio you will have a head start with something like the VideoMic Go. This shotgun microphone is perfect for doing interviews as long as your subject is right in front of the camera at a reasonable distance. It is a great option for general audio recording of the ambient sounds that are around you." http://froknowsphoto.com/rode-videomic-go-review/
