The Electro-Voice N/D468 Dynamic Instrument Microphone is a dynamic instrument microphone specifically designed for capturing horns, drums, acoustic and electric guitars, percussion and other instruments high in transient (peak) sound reproduction. The N/D 468 features a Neodymium element with a supercardioid polar pattern. The supercardioid pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis noise caused by stage monitors, room ambiance, mechanical and instrument noise, etc. The pattern also aids in eliminating feedback.
The N/D468's Neodymium based magnet provides more gain than conventional magnet designs, providing high output which is effective in applications were "cutting through the mix" is necessary. The dynamic element allows more headroom than condensers, and provides maximum sound pressure level handling when placing the microphone close to the source. The N/D468's swivel grill conveniently helps for the best possible placement.
