Very good value for a condenser mic. I use it for recording my sax and find they have a different sound characteristic, maybe a bit boxy, from my usual Shure moving coil cardoid things. I find they work best placed a good 60cm [2'] from the horn, but I am still experimenting. They do look the biz and of course cost 20 times less than the Neumann. Yes, I'd recommend them for home studios. I have yet to try them on location.

I use this in my home studio which is being built on a budget, this is a great budget microphone which i believe stands up well against the more expensive microphones. It's cheap, easy to use and has a great response.

For the price, this is excellent. For a budget home studio it will certainly give decent enough quality to greatly improve your vocal and acoustic guitar recordings. Nicely packaged, and feels fairly durable. Obviously you're not getting a mic to compare with the more top end professional ones, but at this price it will certainly do the job well enough. Also - this doesn't come with a proper shockmount, which you may want to invest in to reduce vibration, but the included mic clamp will do the job in a quiet home studio

I use this mic in my home studio for vocals and have achieved crisp clean results going into a preamp before the board, excellent value for the price

I used 5 of these mics on a live music gig tonight in a large venue. I was using a premium quality sound system however these mics amazed me as i was using 2 as drum overheads and 3 on a large brass section for re-enforcement only. They mainly amazed me because of the extraordinarily low price and their relatively good sound quality. They were owned by the touring company and it seems a few of them were held together with LX tape but to be fair at this price they are almost disposable on the bigger gigs and you definately get some serious bang for your buck. All of the mics were slightly noisy but to be fair they are less than £30 each so a bit of noise through quite a high gain structure is acceptable in my book! Great value unit that packs a punch for live applications!
