RED40 Drum Mic Protector / Acoustic Isolator

Initially intended as a screen to control the problem of cymbals spilling into drum microphones.

Light weight design fits most popular instrument microphones.

I bought this to help stop bleed in the snare mic. after a quick test recording with it on and then off, I found that it did very little or nothing to stop bleed from the cymbals. it does seem to provide good protection for the microphone but any competent drummer can avoid hitting the mic anyway.

It remains to be seen whether it will stand the test of time, but it looks well made and is extremely well priced!

A useful bit of gear for reducing unwanted outside sounds from being picked up by microphones. Intended for drum micing, I use them for recording a guitar amp in a accoustically less than ideal home recording space.
