This accessory pop filter grille increases the versatility of the Shure Model SM81 Unidirectional condenser microphone. It attenuates distracting breath-noise (such as pops and tics from B's, P's and T's) and allows the SM81 to be used as a handheld vocal microphone. By minimizing pickup of rushing and rumbling wind noise, the A81G also allows the SM81 to be used outdoors in windy conditions.

The A81G is ruggedly constructed with a grille that resists damage and deformation. It fastens securely to the SM81 and can be used when the microphone is handheld or stand mounted.
