This unit is well designed with plenty of genuinely useful features and plenteous connection options. Its ruggedly made with well laid out controls and inputs and outputs. Even the battery compartment is a strong design. Sound Quality is excellent and the E.Q. controls make a real difference to the Tone using just a small adjustment. Most Acoustic Electric Guitars utilise a 9V Battery, however I have one that uses 2 x 3V 2032 batteries which in comparison to 9V types presents a relatively low level to an Acoustic Guitar Amp. As I had hoped, this unit completely resolved that level issue, boosting the Sound Quality immeasurably, whilst providing additional controls which can be placed handily for adjustment as necessary.

Mine has just arrived so couldn't wait to try it out with my Sigma SOMR 28H with Fishman Neo D. I'd been a bit disappointed with the Neo as the output is very low even for a passive single coil. On plugging into the Studiospares DI, everything was hunky dory, full control over levels and EQ which really brought the guitar to life. I've already got two friends eager to purchase their own on my recommendation! At this price every gigging musician needs one of these in their bag.

This is a neat unit and has made a big impact on the quality and colour of the music from the lead guitar. The clip LED and use of the notch filter is completely indispensable for our rig and its totally portable. What else could we ask for?

stage use for acoustic guitar and mandolin. pros - brilliant eq and intuitive to use. comprehensive features, cons - a phase reversal switch would have made it perfect. all in all,a steal at the price

Box works well, good sound. Worth noting that if you intend to use a power supply it needs to be DC and that the centre (tip) is positive. The standard for guitar effects pedals is centre negative, so a pedal power supply won't work.

I bought one to try and sort out some problems when amplifying acoustic guitars which have poor quality pickups. I had been thinking of buying an Ultrasound DI plus - this product is a 1/3rd of the price, has more features. It was so good I immediately bought a second one which we used at a gig yesterday - the difference made by these boxes was out standing. Very clean signal path, great sound shaping options - buy one, you won't be disaapointed PS I've just tried it with a cheap bass di'd into a desk - again brilliant sound.

This is an excellent tool that can potentially solve many interfacing problems. The E.Q. is effective and the shape particularly good - great when used with bass. The unit is built to last but the overlap on the steel case does make XLR removal difficult.
