On paper, I checked out 8 different budget (sub £100) monitors, and plumped for these. They seem to have great power handling capacity and have a good low end response (55Hz) - due to the long throw voice coil in the 12" speaker. They also have a nice clear top end (to 20kHz) - due to the 1.75" titanium compression horn driver. They have a good dispersion angle - due to the curved wave guide horn. We use a pair of these for our live sound - one for the vocal foldback and the other for the drum foldback - using a 2 aux and A/B amp set-up. The band members and I think that theses monitors are quite high in their fidelity and can easily handle high levels, such as you might get on stage. So yes, spot on for the budget, albeit that they are not the smallest of items. We'll have to see how they stand up to the riguors of 42 gigs a year!
