Beyerdynamic DT150 Closed Back Headphones

The DT 150 is a closed dynamic studio headphone with a modular construction offering excellent ambient noise isolation. The DT 150 includes all the desirable features that have made the DT 100 famous plus a revised drive unit which provides an extended and more linear response. The powerful neodymium magnet system provides high-fidelity reproduction and a balanced sound. The headband and earphone cushioning systems have been carefully designed for maximum comfort and serviceability. The padded headband can adjusted to fit on every head. Existing DT 100s cannot be retro-fitted with the DT150 drivers because of the size.

I expected them to be a bit better than my old Beyer DT 220. Well they were more comfy, lighter and the sound was so much more open. They easily revel conductors humming along, air con & breathing sounds, nuances of recording technique & electronic problems.

Brilliant headphones, good honest sound and bass response just right. Why have I wasted money on other headphones for years. Big ear cups are very comfy even over specs. I'm goin to buy some more now !

I've used DT100s for a long time, and they've never let me down, but these are the same build quality with a FAR better bass response. The DT100s sound cheap compared to the DT150s. Go the extra few quid, and you won't regret it

Good fidelity, particularly as they are much closer to the sound that emanates from my JBL monitors. The bass is much better than other headphones I have used.

I've used and specified the old DT100s for years in radio stations, but only wear them on one ear.(I'm one of these weird people who feel too isolated with both ears covered). When I finally bought myself a pair of 100s for use at home and on both ears I was amazed to discover they squashed my head, sound quality seemed quite nasty and almost boxy when using both ears, and imaging was vague.(this,I discovered, applied to ALL sets under my control) Having upgraded to DT150s in the studios, I now LOVE the sound- clear, good imaging, stunning bottom end....I still find them just as uncomfortable as the 100s for extended wearing; If you find 100s comfortable, then I can recommend these, especially if build quality is as good (they are presenter-proof, and that makes them worth the price)-perhaps I just need to stretch the headband?
