Reasonable quality 3.5mm Jack cable for use with my iPhone in the car. Not professional, but I knew this when I purchased it. Moulded parts could be better.

When I opened the bag, I found a length of wire with a mini-jack at either end, which was as expected. The mini-jack plugs fitted into the sockets for which they were intended first time and this procedure was completely problem free. The lead is black, which, to me, is a perfectly acceptable colour as it tends to go with everything. It had a matt finish which I prefer as I tend to think that shiny plastic looks rather cheap. The length of wire was slightly under 500mm but, including the plugs, the total length of the lead is just over 500mm prompting the question "what is the length of a 500mm lead"? Personally, I would expect the length of wire to be 500mm but I wouldn't quibble about this as it was perfectly adequate for the job for which it was purchased. This is a fairly versatile product as it will fit into any mini-jack socket in any electronic device and connect it to any other, similarly equipped, device as long as it is no more than 500mm away. I use this lead to connect my mp3 player with my in-car entertainment system and, so far, it has coped with both devices turned up to full volume. However, as both these devices are fairly low powered, I would not be able to guarantee it's performance under more testing circumstances. Having said that, judging from the thickness of the wire, almost any electronic equipment would fry long before this lead showed any ill effects. This lead was purchased to replace my previous one which was about three metres long. This is not a length I would recommend for in-car use as it caused me to trip over it on exiting my vehicle. This, in turn, caused the tip of the mini jack to become detached and disappear somewhere inside the in-car entertainment system. I fully expected this to cause a short somewhere and render my stereo inoperative but, to date, the equipment has continued to work perfectly. If my luck does not hold out and I have to replace the in-car system, I shall be happy to write a full review of this, space permitting.
