The several dozen I've used work fine, I suppose if you're a bit ham fisted with a soldering iron you might melt the insulator.

I don't understand why these are getting bad reviews, as they are almost exactly the same as the stereo version, which is excellent. I suspect that in the hands of complete amateurs anything that can go wrong will do so. The fact is that they solder beautifully, can securely grip a wide variety of cable diameters, and just work, at least the 100 or so that I use do. I saved a lot of time and money with these, and will continue to use them.

Nice reincarnation of the Neutrik jack. Why no one except Swichcraft makes copper jacks????

Studio spares are a fantastic company to deal with, however i threw these jack plugs away and bought the all metal ones instead. The reason is that the sleeve which one solders the leads to has a plastic end to seperate the tip from sleeve and 4 out of six melted the plastic enough to make the jack loose. Very poor design but i guess you get what you pay for ,buy cheap pay twice!!!

easy to assemble but the threaded plastic cap hardly grips the body on assembly, bound to be a reliability problem in use. Inexpensive though.

I had a problem with these connectors in one particular device in that the tip was not making contact unless I pulled out the jack by 1 or 2mm. When I measured the length of the barrel I found that it is approx 1mm longer than all of the other connectors I use, including the decent Planet Waves cables.
