The Front Face: 

Certainly, since the 1970s, Yamaha has been continuously developing and refining its products, resulting in the HS series. The HS5 studio monitor is the embodiment of Yamaha’s philosophy for designing and delivering pristine and accurate audio in recording situations.

The HS5 monitor features a wide array of premium quality components that includes extra-large magnets helping to deliver perfect audio fidelity.

The advanced magnetic field design delivers incredible accuracy to its sound reproduction for the best results during times of critical listening. The HS7 features a 2-way bi-amplified design which is comprised of a 5" white cone woofer driven by a 45w amp and a 1" dome tweeter driven by a 25w amp. The independent amps ensure maximum efficiency from the monitor even when used at high sound levels.

The Yamaha HS5 monitor boasts an incredible 54Hz-30kHz frequency range. With a frequency range this wide, every detail and nuance from your recordings will be heard with absolute clarity. This enables you to make the best mix decisions no matter what music you’re working on and will translate perfectly on any playback system.

The Rear Panel:

Featuring a Room Control switch that compensates for exaggerated low end, typically found in smaller rooms when the monitors are placed close to a wall. The Room Control switch offers -0, -2 or -4dB from 500Hz and below. In addition, the HS5 also features a High Trim switch. This works in the same way as the room control but for the higher frequencies.

Lastly, the HS5 features a +4dB or -10dB level control with a centre click point for a default output. Thus, allowing you ultimate control over your monitor's output for whatever space you are in, whether it’s in your bedroom or backstage, the HS5 will accommodate.

The rear of the Yamaha HS5 also features excellent connectivity options. The back-panel house XLR and ¼” TRS inputs that are accepting of both balanced and unbalanced signals that are perfect for routing sound from sources like audio interfaces.

The HS5's construction is second to none, featuring a robust MDF design enclosure with three-way mitred-joint corners, the HS5 has excellent resonant vibration elimination qualities that contribute to its crystal-clear projection.
