Studiospares Microphone Stand

The Studiospares microphone stand is great for many different applications. Whether you are looking to place a vocal microphone at the front of stage or an instrument microphone in front of an amplifier at the studio, this stand can do it all. Finished with a matt black coat, this stand always looks appealing in any environment. This model has evolved over a fifteen year period making it extremely reliable through using full metal construction which includes the height adjusting sleeve and the three legged base. The long legs and the rubber feet stabilise the stand, making sure that your microphone is always safe. The boom arm angle is set by a Tommy Bar not a plastic knob. That way the arm will not droop when using a heavy microphone. We hold a complete inventory of all the components so the stand can always be repaired. Our microphone stands are built to be extremely reliable using a full metal construction, including the height sleeve and the three legged base. The long legs and the rubber feet help to support the stand, making sure that your microphone is always safe. For every stand we sell, we donate £1 of the proceeds to Vision for China, an organisation restoring hope and transforming lives through healthcare, medicine, childcare and child development, social care and rehabilitation, education and training. Since we first started this scheme we have raised over £65,000 to date (Sept 2015) for the charity and will continue to do so! To find out more, please visit the Vision for China website.

I usually avoid cheap mic stands having regretted it in the past. Based on previous comments I thought I'd take a chance and I've not been disappointed. The stands are solid, well made, and look good. I'm impressed. Time will tell in terms of how well they will last but so far it looks promising.

I needed a couple mic stands at a cheap price that are not going to let me down in the studio or at gigs. Hell yeah I went to Studiospares because they do not disappoint. I bought two of these stands 3 years ago and they are still going strong. Don't be put off by the price or by the look, they are a little flimsy but that is to be expected because they are not the best they are just good and if well looked after they will last you a long time. Note that they do NOT come with a mic clip. A lot of people make that mistake of thinking they do, however they do come with the screw for a clip, that is pretty cool.

Definitely more solid than most other stands at anywhere near this price point.. no weak plastic joints or connectors, all metal. A really good find! I will be getting more!

At such a cheap price I wasn't expecting much, but this is surprisingly solid and does the job. It's much better than some of my other stands that were more than twice the price. It's maybe not robust enough for live stage abuse, but for studios and rehearsals it's more than adequate.

The quality to price ratio is spot on. It's everything I want from a mic stand and at an excellent price.

Only had this about 6 months and the joint that allows you to tilt the boom at different angles has completely worn out. I thought it was a good value mic stand before (definitely better than others in the price range) but this defect is really annoying. How long does a decent durable mic stand take to put together and how much should it cost? Alot apparently.

These microphone stands with booms and thread adapters are of much higher quality than the price would suggest. They are widely adjustable to suit numerous situations. Great Value!

Surprisingly well balanced with overhead condensers at full length. Has 2 cable clips to keep cables tidy. Using for home studio (8x12' size) these mic stands fold up to nothing and take up next to no space extended.

I needed another mic stand for my home studio and as it will get fairly light use I went for this budget model. It is actually more sturdy than I thought it would be and I imagine it will last me for years. It would probably be fine for live use too and if I needed another stand for that I may well give this a try.

This product is great. Ok so it's not top of the range so don't expect it to be but at the same time it feels sturdy the boom feels secure and it does the job Of holding a mic very well. What more could you ask for under £15 :)

These were bought for use in a school, although I am a long time served musician and performer myself so have a lot of experience with different gear. I wasn't expecting these to be as good as they are for the price. I have paid much more for less quality in the past. These will be used for music technology and performance in a school.

The best just got better! I've already got six of these things, collected over the last 3-4 years. They have always been, and still are, the best value mic stand you can buy. So I ordered two more, and imagine my surprise when I found that the boom friction grip oval handwheel had ben replaced by a K&M-style tommy bar! Now, these fall short of K&M for overall quality and durability, of course, but they're still flamin' good and a big improvement over the handwheel. Top marks to Studiospares for making these even better value!

I ordered this after using a Mic stand which was a similar price but which was much lower quality and really flimsy. This stand is solid and a much better feel to it. The boom extends, it's solid and has cable clips to keep your cables tidy. For the price or even twice the price I would still recommend this.

I use this product in my home studio, its a good compact mic stand and well priced but nuts start to slip with heavier mics (large diapgragm condensers with big metal shock mounts) so they cant be extended very far out, i can see it being very good for small mics on stage perhaps. [...]

Unbeleivable quality for the price! I recently imported some mic stands from china for the same price and after 1 gig they were broken! The Studio Spares stands have now done 6 (HEAVY) gigs and still look like new! They are made from a thick steel rather than the cheaper tin/alluminum ones... basically its a top of the range mic stand at a nice price!

Good Value, very inexpensive, well made - the boom holes are plastic and a 'tad' oversized but not a problem. Sturdy and easy to set up. Telescopic boom arm is not heavyweight but sound. Useful to slide closed if you are in a tight spot - unlike my heavier boom stand with fixed length arm. Well done SS - an excellent buy - very pleased.

I have used these for a few years both live and in the studio. They work well, and are excellent for the price. I wouldn't use one as a lead singer's mic stand (ie if it was going to be thrown around alot) because they're a bit too lightweight for that. But, otherwise, very good.
  • Verified Customer
    on 17 September 2011
Unlike some other stands, there are spare parts available so if something breaks it is not scrapped! I bought this for occasional studio and entertainment use for which they are perfect, but feel they may not a best buy for continuous use.
  • Verified Customer
    on 12 August 2011
I own more than ten of these stands and have given away more to friends in need. They are a great price, and solid and reliable for that price. You wouldn't want to sling a big heavy mic off them, but then a stand for that purpose would be ten times the price. For small to medium sized mics, these stands offer stable support and don't droop - you can really crank them down tight! If they do ever start drooping, just buy another! I've got a couple that are getting on for five years old and have had plenty of use in the studio and live, and they're still just as good as they were when I bought them...just a bit scratched and dented from abuse. I seem to recall that you can buy all the spare parts for them too. How good do you want it?! :D

I have had many different types of mic stands before, very expensive and very cheap. usually its a case of you get what you pay for but not here, these have managed to outdo stands 3 times the price in stability and ease of use, a few complaints are they're not as heavy as i would have liked, heavier mics may tip it over if your not careful and if treated roughly they don't last as long as some of the more expensive alternatives but if you treat them as you should then they will last a very long time. also you can replace parts for very little money from this site so all in all. excellent product.

It is a great piece of gear that fits together easily and is very lightweight. This would be great for a Home Studio or DJ setup but I wouldn't recommend this for a Professional Studio or for Live Sound e.g Festivals. I say if you're looking for mic stands that can take some punishment over the next couple of years then don't buy these. They look like they need a lot of care and when fitted together parts do come lose.

We all know that there's usually a pinch of salt to be taken with own-branded products that claim to be as good as the premium labels.
