Studiospares Microphone Stand with Boom

The Studiospares microphone stand is great for many different applications. Whether you are looking to place a vocal microphone at the front of stage or an instrument microphone in front of an amplifier at the studio, this stand can do it all. Finished with a matt black coat, this stand always looks appealing in any environment. This model has evolved over a fifteen year period making it extremely reliable through using full metal construction which includes the height adjusting sleeve and the three legged base. The long legs and the rubber feet stabilise the stand, making sure that your microphone is always safe. The boom arm angle is set by a Tommy Bar not a plastic knob. That way the arm will not droop when using a heavy microphone. We hold a complete inventory of all the components so the stand can always be repaired.

Our microphone stands are built to be extremely reliable using a full metal construction, including the height sleeve and the three legged base. The long legs and the rubber feet help to support the stand, making sure that your microphone is always safe.

For every stand we sell, we donate £1 of the proceeds to Vision for China, an organisation restoring hope and transforming lives through healthcare, medicine, childcare and child development, social care and rehabilitation, education and training. Since we first started this scheme we have raised over £65,000 to date (Sept 2015) for the charity and will continue to do so! To find out more, please visit the Vision for China website.

Purchased Studiospares stands many years ago, and they were brilliant. Quality has however dropped. Anything heavier than an SM58 droops the stand, connections are stiff and difficult to tighten, Some of the threads and poles wernt even straight. its been a month and 2 connections have already broke / unthreaded. mostly unusable and unreliable for me

I use the stands in a live gigging situation so they're up and down regularly, they're great for the price and you can get spare parts if anything breaks, they don't match the original stand that they're modelled on but then again you're not paying £35 for each stand! Great for the price!

We use these for professional gigs. Ok, so you can get better quality stands but at much greater cost....at these prices so what if they eventually break....just buy some more. Although in fairness, the only thing to break so far is the plastic grip that secures the three feet on the upright pole!

Really great value for money. I think these stands will last for a long time before needing replaced.

I bought these stands as an expansion of my minimal portable studio setup (in it's infancy with 2 channels now expanded to 16) so I can record drums. My previous two (naff) stands were about £20 each and not worth a quarter of that. I went for these stands on the strength of an online magazine's article naming them as very good for the money and highly recommended. Considering the current deal (6 for about £71 delivered), they're mega cheap, and yet WAY better than my previous stands. I can't compare them with new K&Ms or Beyers, but I'd say right now I can't see the need to upgrade these as they look rugged, and I expect they'll do everything I need for a studio or live setup excepting heavy mics out on the boom (eg LDC with shock). But then what do you expect when those kind of overhead stands are usually in the £hundreds? They have a tommy bar for locking the boom angle (unlike the photo and much to my approval), and crucially for me the height adjustment locking collar is made of metal. The plastic ones are always a constant pain (never locking enough or needing a grip like a fisherman to get it to - then even worse getting it unlocked… until the plastic breaks making the whole stand useless). I can't find fault with them at all yet... but maybe after some abuse I will report back. Having said that (and having been an engineer - of the metal machining variety), I really can't see much going wrong outside of serious mistreatment. So I'm very pleased. If you need stands for normal work, fear the cheap pap, and yet don't have lots of money - get these. You wont regret it. I know i wont... in fact I will probably come back for more.

durable Micstand. Metal t-bar and base means the main issues with most inexpensive stands, that being plastics used in these areas breaking, is mitigated.

Couldn't believe the quality of these stands for the price! As long as you're not careless, these stands should just keep going and going!

These stands are well built and great value for money, what lets them down is the brittle plastic parts used, I've thrown 2 away within a month because the plastic parts that do up around the base have broken, I also had a customer return one for the same problem.

These seem pretty good for the price, appear reasonably durable, although a bit hard to tell from just one Sunday morning's use. The screw used to adjust the angle of the boom is different than pictured. It's like in product code: 438460, I would possibly say from experience, these are better. So far - good deal!

Very good product for the money . Perfect for studio use but not suitable for live/touring as build quality is not the best.

If the boom angle-adjust doesn't tighten up easily, take out the big coach bolt and saw about 4mm off the thread. (Don't forget to tidy up the end with a fine file.)

Used for general gigging, I was expecting nothing special for that price but was really surprised. They are very similar in design to the Beyer ones I have that are £55 each. Incredible value though it remains to be seen how durable they are but if they only last half as long I'll be very happy.

I already had a couple of these but with a festival coming up I thought I would spring for some more They are robust, stable, do what they say on the box really Good value as a six pack, I just hope I end the weekend with the same number of stands (and mic's, cables etc) that I start with.

Given the price of these stands I wasn't expecting an amazing quality product but I am very pleasantly surprised! They feel very stable and strong and when I used them as mic stands for a live show today they worked perfectly without drooping or moving about too much. I'd buy many more if I needed them.

Absolutely fine on most microphones, our heavier condensers all make it droop, but I guess with an expensive mic, you don't buy cheaper stands!

Bought them as value items almost in consumable class - at the price not too worried about occasional damage. Don't use with the boom fully extended and SM58 or similar weight mics, the boom clamp slips unless done up by a body-builder and at long reach the whole stand over-balances easily. Best used for extra height rather than long reach. A good workhorse item nonetheless.

use it for drum and vocal mics recording in home studio - great quality, very sturdy and have lasted me well so far with no problems! the best value stand you'll find for about a quarter of the price you should be paying for it! excellent.

Great budget mic stands. Wouldn't say they're going to be the longest lasting but for the price they can't be beaten and they do what they're supposed to. Only problem I found was if you have a heavyish mic and the boom is fully extended at right angles they're not very stable, but that's nit picking!!!

The product is just right, all stands tend to move a little untill they have been tightened up a few times, once in place and stable they give what i want at an affordable price

For the money you simply cannot get a better quality product. It does what it says on the tin with no hassle. I am astounded by the build quality of this product for the absolute minimal price! I can see this product lasting me a long time, and I will be investing in more in the future!

mic stands are considered a perishable item in the gig circuit i'm based in an around so the value for money and quality they offer is superb! they are built just as well as a lot of stands that can cost up to £25 each and they last just as long if not longer!

I use 6 of these microphone stands twice a week when I run the sound for other bands and my own, I have had these stands for while now and only just showing signs of wear (Cosmetic only, mechanically they all work perfect!) - Once set up they hold their position and don't require you tighten them to superman standards to do so. Spares are readily available which gives them a HUGE plus over other stands, how often does an entire stand break? I would HIGHLY recommend these stands over competing products at and above this price - Why pay more?

Use the stands for live music - bands, orchestras, choirs etc. and have no complaints about them yet. Like all stands, use and time takes its toll on them but they are worth the money spent

OK so these may not be Beyer or K&M but they are awfully close and extremely good value for money. Look good and work well. On a philosophical note, why do all stands have a 3/8 thread whilst all mic clips have a 5/8 thread? Fair do, adaptors are supplied here but why do we need them?!

Having read previous reviews I though I would order these stands. Why pay twice as much for a microphone stand when you can buy such good quality own brand stands? Amazing value for money and good to know that spare parts are also stocked.

6 for the price of 5 means that these excellent stands are cheaper than many flimsy inferior models. My only adverse comment is that the pressed steel locking rings make the stands look cheap (they are the same as used on cheap & nasty budget stands) - I replaced mine with some fancy brass ones I had fabricated, but that's only a matter of aesthetics. Buy these stands, then spend the money you've saved on more kit!

Not the best-engineered mic stands in the world but at the price they are fantastic value for money, ideal for our church singers. The quality is high enough that there is no point whatsoever in paying more money. Great starting package for a band or samll studio too, although in the latter case you should have one heavy top-quality stand too.
