STACKRACK 16U high StackRack 16U Rack space (905mm external height). This is a robust system which is well thought out. It has been slowly developed in the light of `hands on` experience. Finished in Black epoxy resin for durability and clean appearance. The overall depth (38.5cm) is sufficient to extend beyond the rear connections of practically all equipment or signal processing gear which provides protection for plugs and sockets. Rear uprights can be secured to walls and furniture for greater security. Front of rack threaded to accep M5 screws. Supplied flat packed with all assembly screws and twenty x M5 equipment fixing screws. External dimensions (mm) 905H x 380D x 500W.

Seems quite sturdy once assembled. As others have commented, holes in the back would be useful, and the unit is significantly taller than 16U. There ARE 16 U of available rack space, plus another U and a bit top and bottom where the bar goes across, so you could at a pinch rack up 18U of gear if you took out the front bars. The only major gripe is that the heads of the supplied M5 bolts are so small that they go through the mounting holes on most equipment, so washers are needed - they would be a good idea anyway to spread the load so it's a shame they're not included.

Only 14U of usable rack space. Mounting holes only at the front so no way to support deep items at the rear. Fixing screws for crossbars came pre-instered into their threads and were so solidly rusted in that it required WD40, a bench vice and a pair of mole grips to unscrew them. Heads on equipment mounting screws too small so washers required to secure equipment reliably. But it's cheap and cheerful and pretty sturdy once assembled.

Read the bottom line this rack is taller than 16U. Also the putting together seems somewhat counter intuitive the holes to thread the supplied screws through are not easily accessible.

A cheap solution for your rack needs - solid and easily assembled - worked out cheaper than building a wooden frame and adding rack strip!

I got the ends wrong way round when assembling it as that appeared to be the most logical way but it turned it to be wrong. I was worried that it wouldn't be stable but actually it is. It would have helpful to have have had a note in with it to warn you about the right way to assemble it.

Simple and clearly a well thought out design. No instructions, but doesn't need them. I had this set up and my gear installed in about 30mins. Would get another if required.

Holds the 2 power amps and mixer for band. Room to fit EQs when we have the cash. Saves time when setting up for gig

I used this to collect together all my bits of outboard gear that I use for my small home studio. It did the job great and was in use straight away.
