The cable's chunky jacket will protect the contents from all but the worst abuse. Because guitar pick ups demand high impedance circuits, any internal cable capacity will seriously attenuate high frequencies. By increasing the distance between the inner conductor and the shield, Spirit cable benefits from very low self capacity (70pF/metre) This critical figure is further enhanced by employing an advanced foamed dielectric insulator. This in turn is encased in a semiconducting graphite plastic tube which discharges and antistatic generated when the cable is flexed. Again, high impedance circuits would suffer without this antistatic tube. Dense spirally wound copper strands form a 100% shield against interference and helps maintain a supple cable.
