RODE CLASSIC MK11  CARDIOID-HYPERCARDIOID-WIDE CARDIOID-OMNI-FIGURE OF 8  Recording engineers are increasingly turning to valve microphones to lend  warmth to the sometimes impersonal sound of digital recorders. Rode have  chosen the vintage twin triode GE6072 valve which has been carefully  integrated with a modern circuit design giving the warm sound of valve  technology without sacrificing openness, clarity or low self noise. A  custom wound Dean Jensen transformer matched to the capsule completes the  electronic stage of this microphone and a separate power supply provides  power for the valve and remote control switching. The capsule is a dual  pressure gradient unit manufactured from Mylar film and then gold  sputtered before being carefully hand assembled. Nine polar patterns are  available in graduated steps ranging from Omni through wide Cardioid,  Cardioid, Hypercardioid and Figure of Eight, giving the flexibility to  work effectively in any acoustic environment. A two stage high pass filter  and attenuation are provided for high sound pressure environments. The  solid brass mic body is hand polished, sand blasted and coated with a  satin nickel coating. Supplied with stand adapter cable and housed in a  custom aluminium flight case.
