The competitive price also includes a bass attenuation switch, a 20dB pad, outboard power supply, shock mount and integral pop shield. The electronics are based on the 12AX7 valve which presents a very high impedance to the dual membrane cardioid capsule and can be viewed through a window. To minimise the possibility of ground loops a ground lift switch is included in the power supply. In a recent review of The Solid Tube in Audio Media, Rick Chinn admitted he could detect no difference between it and The Tube when used on a wide range of material.
