AUDIO TECHNICA AT4060 TUBE MIC  CARDIOID  The AT4060 is a cardioid vacuum  tube microphone. The externally polarised dual membrane capsule is around  22mm in diameter consisting of gold plated 2 micron membrane. There are no  switches on the microphone because with a 150dB maximum SPL figure no  input attenuating pad is required. The body is diecast and then machined.  The electronics centre around a 6922 valve which is a high  transconductance twin triode. The output is transformer balanced which  provides high common mode rejection (Less likelihood of RFI breakthrough).  The ground connection to pin 1 on the connecting cable can be switched out  to avoid ground loops. The response has a broad presence lift (not a peak)  between 2kHz and 10kHz plus another broad low frequency lift from 200Hz  down to 30Hz. The sound is generally considered bright which helps vocals  cut through the mix. In consequence the 4060 makes other similar products  sound dull. Supplied complete with AT8447 shockmount and AT8560 power  supply complete with rack mounting ears and a 10m 6 pin XLR connecting  lead.
