A switchable high pass filter rolls off sub sonic frequencies below 80Hz. This is followed by a compressor, de-esser, enhancer and an expander/gate all of which are under the control of the renowned dbx VCA (voltage controlled attenuator). LEDs indicate approximate signal level status at various parts of the signal chain. This allows the user to optimise the signal levels and drive the device to the limits. LEDs also indicate the amount of gain reduction and gate opening/closing.
