dbx 266XL COMPRESSOR/EXPANDER/GATE  dbx have led the signal dynamics  brigade for over two decades. The 266XL fully utilises that expertise. It  employs their OverEasy compression and True RMS Power Summing. The  expander/gate has a threshold from -65 to +15dBu with a ratio of 1.2:1 to  8:1. The compressor has identical thresholds and ratios with an attack  control ranging from 3dB/mSec to 0.04dB/mSec. Compression can be set to  OverEasy, another dbx innovation. The release time is variable between 250  and 5 dB /Sec. These can be set to manual or automatic to become programme  dependent. This is followed by an output gain control. Threshold status  either above or below the desired level. The amount of gain reduction is  displayed on an LED bargraph. There are bypass and stereo link switches.  Inputs and outputs are on XLRs.
